IndustrialCreating value
through fundamentals

South Africa has a broad, established manufacturing structure which has proven itself, showing potential and flexibility to participate in global competition.

Industry is restricted to the Western Cape, Gauteng, Port Elizabeth, and KwaZulu-Natal.

This sector provides a chance to significantly encourage the growth of activities in other sectors (For example: The South African Steel industry supplies the large automotive industry) such as creation of employment, boosting the economy, and increasing services offered.

Manufacturing is the second largest contributor with 15.4 percent of annual GDP in 2012. It is made up of mainly metals, electronics, chemicals, automotive, footwear and clothing.
